Fame Comes to Hub Kittle

A little while ago I mentioned that my smiling mug was being used for a persona within Microsoft. Well, evidently the building in which the relevant team works is now festooned with posters of me in my new persona. Someone who works with me was kind enough to pry one loose from the festoonment and post it on the wall outside my door.

My alter ego is named Gilbert and is a game developer student. His ambition is to work for a game studio. Below the picture, the poster lists a bunch of facts about Gilbert ("I'm learning how to organize & prioritize my work;" "I won't worry about selling games until I work for a game studio"). It's quite diverting to have me staring down at myself from the hallway. And as you may not know, the first major pieces of programming that I did were in fact games I wrote; it was in high school not college, but basically I was the Gilbert persona back in the day as I cranked out my Pac-Man, Q*Bert, and Robotron clones, written in Compiled Basic on an original IBM PC.
